Runners High

…is the best feeling ever!!!

I got my run in this morning! I completely zoned in and rocked out to my music…and the time flew by. I guess the little break I took from running over the last few days really helped my body recover properly because my legs felt light and full of energy the entire time!! I didn’t want to stop! This run made me feel much more relaxed and confident about my race this Saturday.

Before my run, I had this lovely:

A Fitnessista B-fast cookie!

This mixture included:

  • 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1 scoop all natural protein powder
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/8-1/4 cup skim milk

mix together and then top with:

  • 1 tbsp natural almond butter
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened shredded coconut

After my run, I decided to to update my playlist on my Ipod for my race. Thanks to Jenn, I had some pretty good songs to put on there! Check out her blog for her new playlist!

Then came lunch: a sandwich made with 1 whole wheat hamburger bun, turkey, swiss cheese, and turkey pepperoni.

and a Green Monster shake!

This is what I added into my Magic Bullet:

  • 2 huge handfuls of fresh baby spinach leaves
  • 1 cup soy milk
  • a few pieces of frozen strawberries and bananas
  • 1 tbsp flax

After lunch, I worked on some homework and then got ready to go to work. But before I left, I had some snacks. Running makes me hungry!

Stonyfield’s plain yogurt with 1 crumbled homemade granola bar. I will have to post my granola bar recipe sometime..I love it!

And now I am going to go relax with the family and watch The Office.

Have a wonderful night, all! :D

  6. Wow, it's a small bloggie world eh? My husband is doing the 2-mile too. So are you a Wichitan, or coming in for the race? GOOD LUCK by the way, it's addictive this racing thing, you'll love it! And you will do great.

  7. Oh okay, gotcha. I haven't done this race before. BUT, it is at the park where I run almost every weekend. It will be an easy peasy course. Just flat concrete or pavement sidewalks. I will be there early to run 6 miles before the actual 10K (have a marathon in a few weeks) but if you see us, come say hi! The other girl doing the 10K with me and I will be the giggly chatty ones in skirts ;)
