I hope everyone’s Friday has been amazing!
Mine went well…but how could I ever not be in a good mood on a friday?!
This morning, I decided to celebrate another school week down with a big ol’ cookie!
A fitnessista breakfast cookie, that is. :D
This cookie was made the night before using:
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- a splash of unsweetened chocolate almond milk
- a scoop of plain protein powder
- cinnamon
- 1/2 mashed nanner
Then this morning, I smeared half of it with White Chocolate Wonderful and the other half with crunchy Barney Butter. MMMM!
Lunch…cafeteria food. Meh. My school day actually went well and was a pretty easy day. It went by fast, too, which is always a plus!
When I got home from school, I decided to have a bar as my snackeroo:
This was the first time I tried this bar and I thought it was just okay. To me, if has a protein-y taste. The nutritional stats made me think of Think Thin bars, with the high protein and the low/no sugar. Would I eat this bar again? Probably. But I think I prefer the Think Thin bars better.
So I was planning on doing some 30 day Shred after school, but honestly I wasn’t feeling it. After a full school week, sometimes I just need to relax. So I just went with flow and did what I WANTED to do. I went out to the kitchen and starting preparing dinner. :)
I grilled some chicken and got to try out one of my new products that I got last weekend. 3 cheese tortellini! This was so delicious!! Next time I am going to cover the tortellini with a pasta sauce…but tonight, I just seasoned them and they were delish! I also had the last bit of brussel sprouts. Good thing we will be going to the store this weekend!
Then for dessert, since it’s Friday of course, I had this bowl of yummy-ness:
Vanilla ice cream with defrosted frozen sweet cherries!
I am supposed to be babysitting right now, but the mother of the kids I babysit called me an hour before I was supposed to come and cancelled on me. I’m not complaining though…I’m just going with the flow. :) This is something I have been trying to work on. I am a “planner". If things don’t go as planned, I get all worked up over it. Well I don’t want to waste another minute of my life being mad/anxious over something that I can not control. I am going to embrace spontaneity. I want to live my life being positive, happy, and healthy.
I hope you all enjoy your night and weekends..Love!
yay for going with the flow, girl =) i'm a total "planner" too but trying to let lose and let things happen! all about letting go of the control
ReplyDeleteenjoy your night Kristi!
That's definitely something I need to work on - going with the flow. When something messes up my plan, it can easily mess up my whole mood or even day. Good for you for listening to your body and doing what it wants, and plus it IS Friday. :)
ReplyDeleteLove, Rachel
Lovely looking bfast cookie! I have a hard time going with the flow, but when I do let go, I find it is benefical to me and I relax a lot!

I know how you feel about always having to have a plan. I get so weird if my plans get messed up or if I dont know exactly what is going on. Its something that I have been trying to work on myself.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is going great, hun! <333
Hey girly! Hell yes for going with the flow! I LOVE IT! I'm trying to do the same. Life so much more fun & surprising without a strict routine, and I find I get a lot more happiness out of living in the moment. I hope you're enjoying your weekend so far!
ReplyDeleteThat tortellini looks really good - I used to order that ALL the time when my family & I would go out for Italian - glad you enjoyed it!
Love, Meg!
Crunchy Barney Butter - how I miss it :(
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog for Pure Protein reviews! My favorite one is the chocolate peanut butter one - so good! Loving the steam off of your dinner :)
hi hun
ReplyDeletewow that breakfast cookie looks so good :)
i have one of those bars waiting to be tried, but im really not a fan of protein bars as i can really taste that protein-y after taste ( even with the think thin bars i got that taste).
i love what you said about wanting to just go with the flow :) its something i struggle with too, letting go of plans or adjusting to the changes, but i think the more we practice not planning everything, the easier itll become. way to go for having such a positive attitude about it tonight :)
have a great night girlie
xxx
Going with the flow is always better! It's just hard to practice:) Dessert looks very tasty!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on the protein bar. Not a big fan.
ReplyDeleteIhear you. I like my days all planned out too, and freak out when things don't go the way I plan and something sudden and unexpected happens. kudos to you for staying cool, calm, and collected!
ReplyDeleteYour breakfast cookie looks amazing!
