Prep Time

Today has been my rest day before my race. I have done a lot of laying around, catching up on my favorite shows, and reading blogs. Ahhh, relaxation!

Even though I have had some serious laziness going on today, I did accomplish a few very important things:

  • I did do some yoga for runners a la Polly this morning. It felt wonderful!!! It made me realize that I totally need more yoga in my life. It is such a great way to de-stress, relax, and get in a positive state of mind. I’m going to do some more tonight so that my muscles are nice and stretched out for the race tomorrow!

  • I got the last bit of my homework done…always a plus.

  • I organized yet another playlist on my Ipod especially for the race. My pink clip-on Ipod shuffle is now race ready!

  • I baked up an awesome recipe from Jenna’s blogger e-cookbook! (more info further down!)

But back to this morning’s breakfast:

1/2 whole wheat bagel with 2 microwaved egg whites, 1 slice 2% sharp cheddar cheese, and 1 Morningstar soysage patty. Plus an orange and green tea

My mom brought home these cool premade salads to try. I used everything except the croutons..they were stale!

I also had a whole wheat pita pocket stuffed with Naturally More peanut butter and fruit preserves, but my camera ate the pic!

Then I got to baking these babies:

I was looking through the blogger E-cookbook and decided I wanted to try one of the recipes. It came to do Heather’s Peanut Butter Banana Muffins or Angela's Whole Wheat Banana Doughnuts. It was a tough call to make, but I decided on the muffins.

Here they are right out of the oven…minus one because I had to try one, of course.

THESE WERE SO GOOD!!! The peanut butter made them so creamy and delicious. It was like a twist on banana bread. I can definitely see this recipe being one that I will make over and over again!

Now I need to do a little more prep work for the race. I need to lay out my outfit and all my gear…and pack some snackies.

I am excited and nervous about tomorrow. I really think that I will have a great time and want to continue on and do more races in the future. This could be the start of a great, positive thing for me. :)

I will be back tomorrow with a recap!

Ahhh I need to get more into yoga! I do pilates for now, but yoga just seems so stress relieving, and I love the stretching.

Anyways, have a great weekend, enjoy your race as much as possible and your AMAZING eats :)

    Love, Meg
